Firmware Update v1.9 (USB Mic OMBRA / VEKTA)

DRAFT: The following instructions are to update the firmware to the version v1.9, published on Auguts 4th 2026.  This is our latest version with these changes in respect to previous published versions:

  • Solved issues with buzzing/cracking/whistling sounds
  • Side tone volume is adjusted to the incremented mic volume gain
  • PS4/5 mode implemented. Hold hidden button for 3 seconds to switch the mode for PS4/5. To solve the low audio input limitation.

  • (v1.8b): Reduce of postprocessing sounds

Version v1.6, published March 2026, already had the following improvements:

  • Higher microphone gain. To solve cases in which the mic volume is too low.

Version v1.5, published January 2026, already had the following improvements:

  • Fixed PC microphone connectivity issues and device reboots related to Windows USB power management

Version v1.4, published December 2025, already had the following improvements:

  • Side tone ON/OFF option clicking on reset button (hidden button, see step 1 below)

Version v1.3, published November 2025, already had the following improvements:

  • Better sound quality and filtering
  • Noise suppression algorithms to better remove breathing sounds
  • Side tone (voice monitoring) to hear your own voice

Which firmware version do I have?

  • VEKTA masks shipped starting End of April 2026 have the v1.8b version.
  • VEKTA masks shipped January-March 2026 have version v1.5 installed.
  • VEKTA masks shipped November-December 2025 had the v1.3 version installed.
  • VEKTA masks shipped starting End of January 2026 have the v1.5 version.

 

  • OMBRA USB Mics have a version v1.2 installed and will benefit to update to v1.5. If microphone volume is too low, v1.6 is recommended.

Requisites

To update the firmware you need the following:

  • Computer with Windows/MacOS/Linux operating system
  • Chrome or Microsoft Edge as browser
  • Access to Github servers not blocked (problem only in some countries)
  • VEKTA Soundproof Mask / OMBRA USB Mic

 

1 - ابحث عن الزر المخفي أسفل الملصق

في هذا الموضع على الملصقات (لـ usb mic ولقناع VEKTA) توجد فتحة يمكن من خلالها الضغط على الزر. يُرجى تحديد موقعها:

2 - اضغط الزر أثناء توصيل كابل USB بالكمبيوتر الشخصي

اضغط الزر بإبرة أو دبوس رفيع جدًا واستمر بالضغط عليه أثناء توصيل كابل usb بالكمبيوتر. من المهم أن يبقى الزر مضغوطًا أثناء توصيل الكابل. لا يهم إذا كان متصلًا عبر USB-A أو USB-C.

(اختياري: للتأكد من أن هذه العملية نجحت بشكل صحيح، يجب ألّا يتم التعرّف على القناع الآن كجهاز سماعة رأس وأن يظهر كجهاز COM في إدارة الأجهزة).

3 - حدّث البرنامج الثابت باستخدام نص ESP البرمجي

اضغط على الزر أدناه ("تحديث البرنامج الثابت). يتطلب ذلك Chrome أو Edge على جهاز كمبيوتر مكتبي.

إذا لم يظهر جهاز USB JTAG في القائمة، فافصل القناع وأعد محاولة الخطوة السابقة: اضغط على الزر أثناء توصيل كابل USB الخاص بالقناع بالكمبيوتر.

اختر جهاز USB JTAG.

Use Chrome or Edge on Windows. This only works on HTTPS or localhost.

4 - انقر لتثبيت VEKTA-Lite v1.9

5 - اختر "محو الجهاز" وانقر على "التالي"

6 - انقر على "تثبيت"

7 - انتظر حتى يكتمل التثبيت

8 - بعد اكتمال التثبيت، انقر على "التالي"

9 - تحقّق من أن كل شيء يعمل بشكل صحيح

الآن يمكنك فصل القناع وإعادة توصيله (من دون الضغط مطولًا على زر الوميض)، وتجربة كيفية عمله.
