Requisites

To update the firmware you need the following:

  • Windows desktop computer
  • Chrome or Microsoft Edge as browser
  • Access to Github servers not blocked (problem only in some countries)
  • VEKTA Soundproof Mask / OMBRA USB Mic

1 - Find the hidden button hole

At this position in the labels (for usb mic and for VEKTA mask) there is a hole through which the flash mode button can be pushed. Please locate it:

2 - Push the button while connecting the USB cable

Push the button with a needle or very thin screwdriver while connecting the usb cable to the computer. You will hear a click when pushing the button, and it needs to be hold while connecting the cable. It doesn’t matter if it is connected via USB-A or USB-C.

(Optional: to check that this process has worked properly, the mask should now not be recognized as headset device and appear as COM device in the device manager).

3 - Update firmware with ESP script

Push the button below ("Update firmware). Chrome or Edge on desktop to be used.

The pop-up window will list the multiple devces connected. You should select and follow instructions as in the pictures.

Then it will flash, and if all good, all is done!

Use Chrome or Edge on Windows. This only works on HTTPS or localhost.

4 - Check that everything is working properly

Now you can disconnect and reconnect the mask (without holding the flash button), and test how it works. Enjoy!
