Firmware Update v1.9 (USB Mic OMBRA / VEKTA)

DRAFT: The following instructions are to update the firmware to the version v1.9, published on Auguts 4th 2026.  This is our latest version with these changes in respect to previous published versions:

  • Solved issues with buzzing/cracking/whistling sounds
  • Side tone volume is adjusted to the incremented mic volume gain
  • PS4/5 mode implemented. Hold hidden button for 3 seconds to switch the mode for PS4/5. To solve the low audio input limitation.

  • (v1.8b): Reduce of postprocessing sounds

Version v1.6, published March 2026, already had the following improvements:

  • Higher microphone gain. To solve cases in which the mic volume is too low.

Version v1.5, published January 2026, already had the following improvements:

  • Fixed PC microphone connectivity issues and device reboots related to Windows USB power management

Version v1.4, published December 2025, already had the following improvements:

  • Side tone ON/OFF option clicking on reset button (hidden button, see step 1 below)

Version v1.3, published November 2025, already had the following improvements:

  • Better sound quality and filtering
  • Noise suppression algorithms to better remove breathing sounds
  • Side tone (voice monitoring) to hear your own voice

Which firmware version do I have?

Are you unsure which version you have? Just contact us.

  • VEKTA masks shipped starting End of April 2026 have the v1.8b version.
  • VEKTA masks shipped January-March 2026 have version v1.5 installed.
  • VEKTA masks shipped November-December 2025 had the v1.3 version installed.
  • VEKTA masks shipped starting End of January 2026 have the v1.5 version.

 

  • OMBRA USB Mics have a version v1.2 installed and will benefit to update to v1.5. If microphone volume is too low, v1.6 is recommended.

Requisites

To update the firmware you need the following:

  • Computer with Windows/MacOS/Linux operating system
  • Chrome or Microsoft Edge as browser
  • Access to Github servers not blocked (problem only in some countries)
  • VEKTA Soundproof Mask / OMBRA USB Mic

 

1 - 라벨 아래에 숨겨진 버튼을 찾으세요

라벨의 이 위치(USB 마이크 및 VEKTA 마스크용)에는 버튼을 누를 수 있는 구멍이 있습니다. 위치를 찾아주세요:

2 - USB 케이블을 PC에 연결하면서 버튼을 누르세요

바늘이나 아주 얇은 핀으로 버튼을 누른 뒤 USB 케이블을 컴퓨터에 연결하는 동안 계속 누르고 있으세요. 케이블을 연결하는 동안 버튼이 눌린 상태로 계속 유지되는 것이 중요합니다. USB-A로 연결하든 USB-C로 연결하든 상관없습니다.

(선택 사항: 이 과정이 제대로 완료됐는지 확인하려면, 이제 마스크가 헤드셋 장치로 인식되지 않고 장치 관리자에서 COM 장치로 표시되어야 합니다.)

3 - ESP 스크립트로 펌웨어 업데이트하기

아래 버튼("펌웨어 업데이트")을 누르세요. 데스크톱에서는 Chrome 또는 Edge가 필요합니다.

목록에 USB JTAG 장치가 보이지 않으면 마스크를 분리한 다음 이전 단계를 다시 시도하세요: 버튼을 누른 상태에서 마스크 USB 케이블을 PC에 연결합니다.

팝업 창에 연결된 여러 장치가 표시됩니다.

USB JTAG 장치를 선택하세요.

Use Chrome or Edge on Windows. This only works on HTTPS or localhost.

4 - VEKTA-Lite v1.9 설치를 클릭하세요

5 - "기기 지우기"를 선택하고 "다음"을 클릭하세요

6 - "설치"를 클릭하세요

7 - 설치가 완료될 때까지 기다리세요

8 - 설치가 완료되면 "다음"을 클릭하세요

9 - 모든 것이 제대로 작동하는지 확인하세요

이제 마스크를 분리했다가 다시 연결하고(플래시 버튼을 누른 채로 있을 필요 없이), 어떻게 작동하는지 테스트해 보세요.
