New VEKTA Firmware Update! v1.8b
Microphone volume gain, PS4/PS5 mode, solved issues... we need to share a new firmware update for the VEKTA Soundproof Mask, v1.8b, that might be helpful for some of you. There have been a few issues happening to some of you that are solved with it:
Microphone volume gain
Some users have experienced low microphone input volume, where their voice was barely audible even with settings at maximum.
Firmware v1.8b increases the base microphone gain, so your voice comes through louder and clearer.
Side tone ON / OFF
The side tone (voice monitoring) feature lets you hear your own voice through the headphones while wearing the mask, but some users prefer to disable it. Now it is possible.
To toggle side tone OFF or ON, briefly press the hidden button while the mask is connected.
Hidden button: There is a hidden button located underneath the product label on the mask (VEKTA and USB OMBRA Mic). Insert a thin object such as a SIM pin through the QR code on the label and press the button underneath. It is not necessary to remove the label.

PS4/PS5 mode implemented
Are you using the VEKTA with the PlayStation 4 or 5? You might have noticed that the audio output through the 3.5 mm jack is low, limited by the console itself for USB headsets.
Now, with the PS4/PS5 mode, the volume is adjusted, solving the low audio output limitation.
To activate PS4/PS5 mode, hold the hidden button (see above) for 3 seconds while the mask is connected.

Solved buzzing/cracking/whistling sounds
Some users have reported buzzing, crackling, or whistling sounds during use. Firmware v1.8b includes improved audio processing that addresses these interference issues, delivering cleaner microphone output with reduced background noise.
Fixed PC connectivity issues
We've identified and resolved several PC connectivity issues, including microphone input dropping out or not being recognized on Windows devices. If you've experienced disconnections on PC, this update might help.
There is a second problem related to disconnections on Windows 11, caused by a specific driver called Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST). Please check the following page if you are experiencing related issues: https://metadox.pro/pages/microphone-not-working
We think all these improvements will benefit many of you and we definitely recommend an update. These updates apply to both the VEKTA Soundproof Mask and the OMBRA USB Mic.
